Reference USA is FREE at the Denton Public Library

Reference USA is powerful database that businesses can use to conduct marketing research, compile mailing lists of potential customers, or get information on more than 24 million U.S. businesses. You can create an Excel spreadsheet on local businesses that fall within the parameters you are researching, or see the strength of the competition with years in business and credit rating.

download (1)With the U.S. Historical Businesses part of the database, you can create a heat map of businesses from up to ten years ago, and compare to a heat map showing current business locations. With this incredible database, you can also select up to 4 businesses and compare employee size and sales volume over a 10 year trajectory.

The U.S. Consumers/Lifestyles database gives you access to over 262 million consumers which will enable you to search for potential customers with interest your products and services. This information can be easily downloaded to a spreadsheet to make customer mailing lists a snap!

Other useful parts of Reference USA include the White Pages to help you track down that long-lost friend from high school; the Healthcare Directory contains listings for over 855,000 physicians and dentists to help guide your search for a new health care provider. The U.S. Job/Internships section has over 2.5 million jobs listings and in fact, Reference USA helps to power Indeed.com. What better way to not only search for jobs, but also be able to immediately find out more about that company or business?
