Emeritus College: Where Learning is for Life
If you haven’t heard about the Emeritus College, you will. Folks throughout Denton and surrounding towns are talking about this learning adventure designed especially for adults 50 and older. As one member said, “All the classes I took have been fun, challenging, and thought-provoking. As a newly retired person, this program has been a great connection to lifelong learning, a source of social connection to Denton and the universities, and an all-round great experience. I think this is one of the best learning resources around.”
Emeritus College offers daytime classes for people who enjoy learning but don’t want to bother with prerequisites, tests, homework or grades. The only requirement is a love of learning. Classes are offered both at the University of North Texas and Texas Woman’s University.
Over 60 classes will be offered next spring. Topics range from arts to current issues, from history and social science to language and literature, from health and well-being to religions and spirituality. Classes begin February 8.
