My favorite book is the 2nd, which is written from the perspective an environmentally conscious scientist, Frank Vanderval, who is mired in a bureaucracy.  By the end of the first book a flood has left him homeless and decides to go feral and build himself a tree house in the city park.  The climate goes crazy and he endures an arctic winter, watching the landscape change drastically and the wildlife try to survive.  There’s much more to it than that, but I really enjoyed the idea of a modern day scientist living like a caveman in the middle of a city park playing frisbee golf with a bunch of college students.  -Leslie
