A Christmas tree benefitting the dogs and cats at the Denton Animal Shelter is up and waiting for Santa at the Emily Fowler Central Library, 502 Oakland St., Denton. Library customers are invited to help Santa out and bring in some items to help with the care of the pets awaiting adoption at the shelter.
Needed items include:
• Clay cat litter
• Clean blankets and towels
• Pet toys
• Cat and dog food
• Dawn dish detergent
This year a display featuring information about the Denton Animal Shelter Foundation Inc. accompanies the Pet Santa Tree. The Foundation is currently involved in a capital campaign for the proposed new Denton Animal Care and Adoption Center.
Emily Fowler Library manager Terri Sharp says, “Last year was so successful, the staff was unanimous in their wish to feature the Pet Santa Tree and give the opportunity for the community to support the Shelter.” Customers can place items under the tree during regular library hours, Mon. Wed. Fri. and Sat. 9-6, Tue. and Thur. 9-9 and 1-5 on Sundays until New Year’s Day.
