North Branch Library’s Fifth Anniversary

With over a million visits by library users since it opened in 2003, the North Branch of the Denton Public Library will be celebrating its fifth anniversary on July 24!


A full day of activities is planned to mark the occasion. Big Al will be on hand from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to entertain the kids with his balloon sculpture.  The Bourbon Street Stompers will be performing traditional Dixieland jazz from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.  In addition, there will be treats and door prizes throughout the day and birthday cake will be served in the afternoon.


The North Branch Library opened on July 24, 2003. It is located at 3020 North Locust in Denton and is the largest of the Denton Public Library’s three facilities. Library customers have checked out approximately 1,800,000 items from the North Branch Library in its five years of service to the community.

  1. Anyone remember the opening day party? The lines for food, the scavenger hunt, Brave Combo playing, and the CROWDS??? I think I worked from 7am to 1030pm that day…and I might have lost 5 pounds from all of the running around. – Sian
