Basic Spanish
Begin learning Spanish at the South Branch Library. If you want to learn Spanish and need a foundation, this four-session class is for you.
Elisabeth Dakak will teach this class. She is a certified teacher of foreign languages and will help students learn basic Spanish vocabulary and grammar. Students will also learn a bit about Spanish history and culture.
This class will meet on four consecutive Saturdays from 2 to 4 pm.
When: 09/29; 10/06; 10/13; 10/20 2 – 4 pm

Conversation Club
All speakers of English as a second language are invited to meet at the Emily Fowler Central Library Thursday nights at 7:00 pm to practice conversational English in a relaxed, informal setting. This is not a class, and there is no set topic, participants should come ready to talk and have fun. Conversation Club is a great place to learn commonly used idioms, practice your conversation skills and learn American vocabulary. All ages and levels of proficiency are welcome!

Conversational Spanish
Conversational Spanish, a six-week class to help non-native Spanish speakers gain confidence in their Spanish communication skills, will be offered at the North Branch Library this summer. Providing an opportunity for participants to practice Spanish in a small group setting, Conversational Spanish will meet on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 beginning on June 7 and ending on July 12. Participants must have studied Spanish and speak some Spanish. There is no charge to attend but class size is limited. Registration for the class is requested. Mango: the fun, fast and easy way to learn a language
Did you know that we have a fun, fast and easy language learning program called Mango Languages? The best part is it is free for Denton Public Library patrons and you can access it anywhere there is Internet with your library card.
Mango is the easiest and most effective way to learn to speak a foreign language. It is available in two versions:
Mango Basic:
Perfect for a foreign language beginner, Mango Basic teaches everyday greetings, gratitudes, goodbyes and helpful phrases in a short period of time. The courses, which require only two to five hours of time to complete, are currently available in 34 foreign languages and 15 English as a Second Language (ESL) courses.
Mango Complete:
Mango Complete offers a 100-lesson course that digs much deeper and is designed to provide a more complete understanding of the entire language and culture. It is available in 31 foreign language and 14 ESL courses. Foreign language courses include Chinese, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. ESL courses include Polish, Spanish and Portuguese.
