Autism Information for Parents
Diagnoses of Autism Spectrum Disorders are on the rise. Are you a parent facing a new diagnosis for your child? Or have you been dealing with this for quite some time, but want to see what new information and resources are available? Learn more about autism and what you can do to support your child’s development on Tuesday, September 18 at 7:00 p.m. at the Emily Fowler Central Library, 502 Oakland Street.
The presentation will include information on the characteristics of autism, prevalent statistics, and types of treatments and interventions that have been found to be effective. Local and national resources for information and support will also be discussed. The program will be presented by Nicole Caldwell, M.Ed., a PhD student in Educational Psychology at the University of North Texas. This program is free and no registration is required. Find the resources and support you need to tackle the challenges unique to parents of children with autism spectrum disorder.
