If you haven’t heard about the Emeritus College, you will. Folks throughout Denton and surrounding towns are talking about this learning adventure designed especially for adults 50 and older. As one member said, “All the classes I took have been fun, challenging, and thought-provoking. As a newly retired person, this program has been a great connection to lifelong learning, a source of social connection to Denton and the universities, and an all-round great experience. I think this is one of the best learning resources around.”
Emeritus College offers daytime classes for people who enjoy learning but don’t want to bother with prerequisites, tests, homework or grades. The only requirement is a love of learning. Topics range from arts to current issues, from history and social science to language and literature, from health and well-being to religions and spirituality.
If you would like to learn more about the Emeritus College, you can attend a free open house on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at the Silver Eagle Suite, University Union, Level 3 UNT. New members will meet from 2 to 3 pm, returning members from 3 to 4 pm.
To reserve your free spot (Plus free parking) call Jordan Williams, 940-369-7293 or email Jordan.Williams@unt.edu. To preview the spring classes or become a member, visit: http://call.unt.edu/EmeritusCollege.
