Library Larry and friends teamed up with the City of Denton’s Streets and Traffic Departments for the May episode of the award-winning television show Library Larry’s Big Day. Sarah Lollar with the Streets Department was the tour guide.
The puppets got a firsthand look at how potholes are filled and how asphalt is laid by the Streets Department. They also got to see how an existing road that could no longer be repaired was replaced. Then they stopped by the Traffic Department, which is in charge of designing, making, and installing traffic signs around town. Terry Patterson gave the puppets a special demonstration of how one of Denton’s new bicycle traffic signs is put together. Along the way, they talked about how to be safe and look both ways when crossing a street.
The episode will run the entire month of May at 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. every day on DTV (Charter channel 26, Verizon channel 38, and Grande channel 12). You can also watch the episode and YouTube clips of past episodes any time at www.librarylarry.com.
