Spooky Times at the Library
Halloween is almost here, and that means Spooky Storytimes at all three branches of the Denton Public Library. On Tuesday, a spooky time was had by all at the Emily Fowler Central Library, and yesterday, over 100 people had spooktacular fun at the South Branch. Don’t worry if you missed these two storytimes, though — the North Branch has their Spooky Storytime at 4pm this Friday, October 29!
Basic Crochet Program For Adults
Want to learn a new craft or brush up on an old skill? Want to get an early start on holiday gifts? Denton Public Library is offering a classes for adults who never learned to crochet or who learned long ago and have forgotten how. An Adult Basic Crochet program will be held at the Emily Fowler Central Library from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on three Thursdays, November 4, 11, and 18. Mary Cresson will demonstrate basic stitches and how to read patterns, and attendees can choose project patterns from among a scarf, a draw-string bag, and a teddy bear. Yarns and hooks will be provided for practice, but feel free to bring supplies from your own “stash” if you have one.
The program is free, but space is limited, so please call to register by November 1. To register, or for more information, please call 940-349-8752.
For more information, contact Mary Cresson, Public Services Librarian, at 940.349.8753 or at Mary.Cresson@cityofdenton.com.
